JUSTICE & ADVOCACY
CHANGE: Voices for Justice and Advocacy

Epworth's Ana A. Brito Foundation empowers individuals and families to speak up, take action, and shape a more just and equitable future. Through Know Your Rights workshops, immigration clinics, and environmental justice initiatives, we equip our community with the tools to advocate for themselves and others. We also promote health and wellness for all, recognizing that true justice includes physical, mental, and environmental well-being.

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS
WORKSHOPS

Know Your Rights workshops are designed to educate individuals—especially immigrants and marginalized communities—about their legal rights in everyday situations and during interactions with law enforcement or immigration authorities. These workshops provide clear, practical information on topics such as what to do if approached by ICE, how to respond during police encounters, and how to protect yourself and your family. The goal is to empower participants with knowledge so they can confidently navigate challenging situations and advocate for themselves and their communities.

IMMIGRATION CLINICS

Immigration Clinics offer free or low-cost legal guidance and support to individuals navigating the immigration process. These clinics provide access to trained professionals who can help with paperwork, answer questions about immigration status, assist with applications for citizenship, DACA, asylum, or family petitions, and connect participants to trusted legal resources. The goal is to reduce barriers, prevent exploitation, and ensure that individuals and families receive accurate, reliable help on their path to stability and legal security.

ENVIRONMENTAL ADVOCACY

Environmental Advocacy at the Ana A. Brito Foundation focuses on promoting environmental justice and creating a greener, healthier future for all—especially for communities disproportionately affected by pollution and climate change. Through education, community engagement, and partnerships, we work to raise awareness about environmental issues, support sustainable practices, and advocate for policies that protect both people and the planet. This work empowers families—many of whom are navigating the challenges of poverty and migration—to become active participants in shaping a cleaner, safer environment for themselves and future generations.
